Week 21, May 2025

Another fun productive week behind us! Friends of ours are on holiday and are staying nearby. So we had a nice chat on the terrace, with a bite to eat and a drink.

We also made a trip to a botanical garden in Cullera. There are many different trees from all over the world. A nice source of inspiration for when I delve even further into exterior/garden styling!

This week I designed a room, with the focus on designing and furnishing it as spaciously as possible. This has everything to do with a nice 'freebie' that I will soon launch on my website! All you have to do is sign up to receive my newsletter by email. Keep an eye out!

It was beach weather again; we visited the boulevard of Altea and drove around Benidorm. I was able to take a few nice shots, and of course we also had something delicious to eat!

Week 20, May 2025

As the temperature slowly rises here in Spain, I am looking for the best balance between work and relaxation. It is important to do something completely different from work every now and then. And even then you can still find parallels between work and free time! A nice picture of a palm tree or flower, it has something to do with the design of the space. Whether it is inside or outside!

Also important for relaxation, is something tasty to eat. This week we had a nice meal at the Dutch 'snack bar', and earlier we also enjoyed the best cinnamon rolls in the country! You can find them at Salt in Cake, in/near Alicante.

As part of 'safari' I went to the zoo, where the zebra also allowed itself a relaxing moment! I made a mood board in a safari lodge theme. There is no better source of inspiration, right? The zoo is located in Elche, also near Alicante.

All those impressions make you tired, and that is why it is good to take a nap every now and then. This applies to humans and animals! :)

Week 19, May 2025

On safari in my own country! Photographing animals is not always easy and sometimes requires a lot of patience. In Safari Aitana zoo you get quite close to the animals, so beautiful pictures are guaranteed! I love animals, so this was a nice way to spend the Sunday.

Did you know that I am also a dog photographer? Very different from interior design of course, but it actually has a lot in common: always looking for the most beautiful image! Our own little friend can be a bit busy sometimes, but with his beautiful fur he often looks very nice in the picture.

A selection from my work this week: a cozy winter hut. Spring has started, but some customers are of course already planning and building for another season! I think this mood board radiates a nice warm atmosphere, where everyone can comfortably turn in when you come back from the cold outside air.

We have also taken good care of the 'culinary' part. Because food is often part of the interior, right? Would you go for the savory sandwich/burger, or rather the sweet waffle/cake?

Week 18, April/May 2025

A good start to this week: My favourite club from the Premier League, Liverpool, became national champions in England. A great achievement by trainer Arne Slot and his players, to do that 4 rounds before the end of the competition.

From football to 'parklife': We visited the beautiful park 'Jardins del Real / Vivers' in Valencia, where you can find beautiful flowers. We even admired a number of beautiful peacocks.

Afterwards we had a nice ice cream and we also had room for a delicious nut tart. We had bought it from the Italian specialty store, and you could really taste it! Very tasty, highly recommended.

And then there was the power outage on Monday, which paralyzed the entire country on Monday afternoon. Cooking or baking food was of course not possible. There was still 1 supermarket open, and we could get a ready-made salad there. Fortunately the sun always rises again the next day!

I made a virtualization of a camper van. Maybe at first glance this doesn't have much to do with interior design, but decorating and styling can definitely be done outdoors! If you look closely, you'll see my signature, also in this creation!

Later in the week I had my nails done again; they are now a beautiful 'stylish' blue! We ate a very tasty plate of pasta at an Italian restaurant in Benicasim, and just like that the week was over!

Week 17, April 2025

Sunsets are often at their most beautiful in spring. The last hour before the sun sets is called 'golden hour'. The beautiful golden glow that then covers the landscape is a gift for every photographer!

It was sunny during the Easter weekend. We had a picnic, and it was warm enough for a delicious frozen yoghurt. Later in the week we went to the water on the Costa Blanca. When the weather is nice, it is always fun to go there; we usually choose Jávea to stroll along the small beach boulevard there, and eat/drink something tasty. We also visited Calpe afterwards, with the large rock in the sea and a lake with flamingos.

In terms of work, I made a floor plan of an entire floor. It took some puzzling with the dimensions, corners and walls, but everyone was very satisfied with the impression that the design makes. You are sold in one go when you see it! I also designed a few mood boards.

There was also time for some nice (Mexican) food in Gandia, including a delicious cookie shake. The weather is getting better, but the tourist season has yet to get going. That is a nice period to go out.
And our little dog friend also likes to come along, especially if there is water nearby!

Week 16, April 2025

It was a week of creating a lot of content! I posted an extensive blog about (the use of color in) 10 important interior styles on my website. Are you curious about the differences between, for example, Boho and Scandi? Then you should definitely read it!

I was also asked to make an inspiration drawing, to apply 2 completely different styles to the interior of a hair salon. Very fun to do, and you can see how diverse the possibilities are!

Furthermore, I posted and prepared a lot of Pinterest posts, to bring my work to the attention there. And ... I finally scored concert tickets for Eros Ramazzotti! Had to wait a long time, but now also for 2 performances: October 2025 in the Netherlands and March 2026 in Germany. I'm really looking forward to it, because it's been a long time!

Nature still had something beautiful to offer. A beautiful sunrise and an orange tree that still has fruit, despite the fact that the season has been over for a while.

We end with treats and our friend on 4 legs! Waffles, muffin and a big plate of spaghetti, which I always like to sprinkle with lots of cheese. :D And Shadow who had the field to himself again, and could run around nicely. Happy Easter!

Week 15, April 2025

This week started in the Netherlands, where we stayed for a short week. One of the specialties in the south of the Netherlands are 'worstenbroodjes': rolls with tasty, slightly spicy sausage in them.

We also ate delicious pastries with chocolate fondant, and then it was time to drive back to Spain. On the way in France we scored some eclairs and chocolate rolls!

Enough eating and snacking, time to work! I made a design for a modern bathroom. Minimalistic, where the space is used perfectly.
I also drew a living room with a comfortable sofa, and I designed the interior for a home office. I paid extra attention to the detail work and light/dark, as you can see in the designs. Very pleased with the end result!

After the hard work, the new weekend started! First a good waffle breakfast, so that we could do an inspirational walk through the old Cabanyal neighborhood in Valencia full of energy. The nice colored facades of the small houses immediately catch the eye.

The menu included delicious Italian bruschettas. Tasty slices of baguette, topped with homemade basil pesto, dried ham and a nice tomato salad.
The last word is of course up to Shadow, who is often there! He likes to be with me when I work, or to go out with us.

Week 14, April 2025

Yes, I was able to grab my diploma! A great milestone for myself and for my business of course. I took on all the challenges, and that is why I am extra proud of the result! Of course, I will use all the knowledge in my creations and client projects.

Finally a bit of spring in Valencia! The sun showed itself more often, and the temperature is slowly becoming more pleasant. Nice to go to the Turia park again. The architecture of the city of arts and sciences is fascinating. It is still nice to walk around there. Our dog also enjoyed himself; he loves water, so of course he took a little dip!

It was time for ice cream and other treats. From now on, I will also incorporate some food into my interior design work. Food is undoubtedly an important element when it comes to interior design: It is not without reason that a meal or snack is on the table several times a day. So you could say that food also has a place in interior design. And I like to use that creative angle in my work and content! Check out more of my food photography work on Pinterest.

We also made a trip to my native country, the Netherlands. A long journey, but luckily the weather was lovely and we visited some lovely people again!

Week 13, March 2025
Week 13 was the week in which I put my ESD (Ecologically Sustainable Design) report online. Yes, it was a lot of work. But I am proud of this bit of awareness that I can now offer to everyone who is involved in building and designing the interior and exterior environment.

There was also time for relaxation at the Valor chocolate museum in Villajoyosa. Me and chocolate, that remains the perfect match!

We also visited the center of Valencia, the weekend after the Las Fallas festival had ended. There was still something to see here and there, but the peace and quiet had clearly returned to the city!

By the way, did you see my stylish elaboration of a Wabi Sabi kitchen? I also managed to quickly schedule a last-minute assignment for a bathroom in between. The customer was very happy with it!

Later in the week I was able to take some me-time: new nails on it, and treated myself to a delicious donut! It was the week in which the sun showed itself more, so: the comeback of ice cream!

And to end this story: all activities are twice as much fun with the presence of my big friend on 4 legs (and a fluff on his nose!).
